About
DinoSaurchestra IS..

New Orleans’ own, Dinosaurchestra began in 2013, paying their dues both in the streets of the Crescent City and in the clubs of Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter. Early on the band began performing solely New Orleans Traditional Jazz and Brass Band Music.  After several years of study, hard work, and club and street performances, the band began to be noticed and invited to play many New Orleans festivals such as Satchmo Summer Fest, French Quarter Fest, Creole Tomato Fest, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, as well as 4 tours to Colorado to perform for the Five Points Jazz Fest as well as a yearly residency at Denver's Nocturne Jazz and Supper Club.

DinosAurchestra is rooted in the traditional style of New Orleans jazz and brass band but uses this musical platform as a foundation and Jumping Point to our more modern interpretation of the times and music. The band is capable of bringing the soul and funk-like sounds of the great Cannonball - Nat Adderley Quintet, the Sheer Joyous Swing of Louis Armstrong’s All Stars, the Low Down Dirty Blues, or the Sweltering Soulful Swing of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. Each set is highlighted with both imaginative arrangements as well as groovy original compositions. Additionally, we are familiar with performing for a wide variety of audiences, spanning from energetic dance parties to intimate concert settings.

As the years go by and we continue to develop, The band’s influence has become much richer and more diverse. We have such skilled and diverse musicians in the band that contribute to our sound that we feel comfortable and “at home” in many differing genres. Our latest album, “New Orleans Run,” is very musically diverse. The album includes originals and covers in styles from New Orleans Funk, Rhythm and Blues, Swing, Caribbean, Soul, and Jazz.  Keep an Eye and Ear out as we will be fully releasing the album during Carnival Season 2023!

The members of DinosAurchestra include Bandleader, Vocalist, and Trumpeter Reid Poole, and Louisiana Natives Oliver Bonie on Alto Sax, and Miles Lyons on Trombone.  The Rhythm Section features Nobu Ozaki on Bass, Brett Gardner on Guitar, Steve Detroy on Piano and Organ, and Ronan Cowan on Drums.  Collectively each member of the band is very accomplished, Within our roster, we have a Grammy Winner, also members of the band are regular members of these notable artists: The California Honeydrops, The New Orleans Night Crawlers, Soul Brass Band, John Boutte, Wendell Brunious, Walter Wolfman Washington, Topsy Chapman, and The New Orleans Cottonmouth kings to name a few.
We are excited to bring the sounds of New Orleans to a stage near you!
